Empowering the Thief

Empowering the Thief

So from watching many videos from Gamecom and PAX 2009, many questions came to mind
to the stealth and sneaky class: the Thief. Seeing how ArenaNet remodeled its former model ( assassin
profession ) and also changed some major mechanics to how this profession works in general stirred up
some
First of all the thief is unlike any of the other profession in the fact that its energy source. Most
professions except the warrior and thief, are able to cast on the fly and only have to wait on a cool
down. With the thief however, they have this energy supply called initiative. Now the thief will have a
pool of 10 initiative points to use and can spam attacks at will without have to wait on CDs. Many
skills will resupply initiative.

Now to add to the thief's arsenal is a skill called steal. Now steal is just one of the skills that has a
lot of people at arms. The thief's steal will work pretty self explanatory. The thief will be able to steal a
spell or utility from a foe and use it at will. The skill will be limited and the "steal" skill will start its CD
until the item or steal that was stolen is used.

Last but not least is the always faithful shadow-step. Yes fellow assassins, the teleport skill is
staying in game and also has a a fresh look. Since the thief will have a wide variety of weapons such as
pistols, dagger, swords, and bows, the shadow-step will work with which ever weapon combination
they choose. This will work perfect for the the thief because the unlike many of the melee types, the
thief will have to know when to jump out of the fight and jump in. Learning when to be passive and
when to be aggressive will be a tricky tactic but once conquered will make this profession deadly.

Overall the revamped thief will be a highly active class. Staying in shadows and striking while the
their foes not expecting is the way of the thief. Hopefully we will be able to see how this profession
runs in field.

We Begin....

Hello one and all to Hero's of Tyria. This will be a blog channel for all your Guild Wars info and general topics. This will be my first blog so if you can please, send me any constructive criticism and also any other comments to build this blog up.

Off that note, let me give some basic info and background. I have been a gamer since, well as long as I can remember. MMO's are my major interest at the moment and since playing many of these types of games I have found myself wanting more and more to play Guild Wars 2. Watching many videos and playing its predecessor ( Guild Wars ) and its wonderful story line has captivated me and I have ever since dug myself in a gw-blackhole.

So there you have it. This will be all my options and plenty of yours to the next saga to Guild Wars 2.
